Living Life Asia publishes sourced, dated information about long-stay and residence routes in Malaysia, Thailand and the APEC region, and offers paid advisory work to people who want that research applied to their own situation.
The site exists because the market for this information is bad in a specific and correctable way. Requirements change and nobody updates. Government departments contradict each other and nobody says so. Figures circulate for years after the order that created them has lapsed. Agencies publish approval rates they cannot substantiate. None of that requires special expertise to fix — it requires reading the primary source, writing down the date you read it, and being willing to publish “we could not confirm this” when that is the honest answer.
Who writes this
Keith Kwai, Founder and Principal Advisor.
Every factual page on this site names the person who reviewed it and the date they reviewed it. If a page carries no reviewer and no date, it is not finished and should not be relied on.
What we publish, and what we refuse to publish
Our editorial rules are published in full, because rules you cannot read are not rules. In summary: facts come from official sources only; every material claim carries a source, a publisher and an access date; unknowns are labelled rather than filled; and we publish no guarantees, no approval rates, no processing-time promises and no testimonials.
The refusal list is the more useful half. There are thirteen specific things we will not publish even though readers ask for them and competitors publish them freely — they are set out on the Editorial policy page, with the reason for each.
How this is funded
Three ways, all visible. Paid advisory work, described on the services pages with the scope, the limits and the fee model set out before you engage us. Display advertising, including Google AdSense, shown in clearly marked ad slots that never sit inside a comparison table, a fee table, or next to a confidence badge — and never on this page, or on Editorial policy, Corrections, or Sources and verification. Labelled sponsored content: individual partner listings marked “Paid partnership” before you read a word of them, in the same position every time, in all three languages. We take no commission from any developer, bank, insurer, operator or agent, on any engagement.
None of these three funds the comparison pages or the tools. A route we don’t sell advisory work for, and a partner who’s paying us elsewhere on the site, can each still lose a comparison — the facts are checked the same way regardless of who’s paying for what. Where a partner listing appears, it says plainly that being listed is not Living Life Asia vetting that partner’s licensing or regulatory compliance in the relevant country.
What we are not
We are not a government agency and not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any immigration department, ministry, embassy or consulate. We are not a law firm, not licensed tax advisers, and not regulated financial advisers. We do not hold client money. Where a programme requires a licensed intermediary — as Malaysia’s MM2H does — we are not that intermediary unless this site says so explicitly.
Who we are for
People weighing a real decision who have found that the available information does not survive checking. Readers in Greater China planning around Malaysia, for whom the Simplified and Traditional Chinese pages are written as primary versions rather than as translations. Readers in the United Kingdom and the United States, for whom Thailand is more often the useful answer than Malaysia is. And anyone who would rather be told that a plan does not work than be sold the plan.
How to correct us
We will get things wrong. When we do, tell us: smedigitalhubsg@gmail.com. Every correction is logged, dated and published on the Corrections page with what was wrong, what it says now and why it changed. We do not silently edit a page that was materially wrong.
General information only. Nothing on this page is immigration advice, legal advice, tax advice, financial advice or any other form of regulated professional advice. It does not take account of your personal circumstances. Official requirements change; verify the current position from the source before acting. Living Life Asia is not connected to, endorsed by or affiliated with any government body.
